The annual Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show has been held since 1955, when the sponsoring organization, the Arabian Horse Association of Arizona, first incorporated. Since then, the association has grown in size and accordingly the show has grown in notoriety. This year, during the 53rd Annual Scottsdale Arabian Horse show, top owners, trainers, and breeders from around the world will bring nearly 2,000 horses to Scottsdale, Arizona to compete for a chance to win a coveted first place blue ribbon. Ribbons can be won in a variety of competitions from working western, jumping, and dressage, to trail, cutting, and reining.
All ages are welcomed and encouraged to attend the show. For children, there are special Educational Seminars, where they can learn more about the Arabian Horse. Or regardless of your age, the Scottsdale Police Mounted Unit will provide demonstrations on how they train their horses, interact with criminals, assist with crowd control, and make arrests. If you love shopping as much as you love horses, visit the Equidome, where over 300 merchants will be exhibiting their art, apparel, and memorabilia. Don’t worry about leaving the grounds to eat, either. The show claims that “you can eat three meals a day here and never eat at the same place and have a fantastic dining experience every time!” How about that for a promise?!
